Alexandra Rodriguez Ayala

Alexandra Rodriguez Ayala holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a minor in Environmental Science from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Growing up surrounded by the coastal beauty of Puerto Rico, she developed a deep connection to the ocean and a strong commitment to protecting marine life. Her passion for marine conservation began at an early age, volunteering in beach cleanups, sea turtle monitoring groups, and coral planting projects.

While completing her studies, Alexandra worked at the Puerto Rico Manatee Conservation Center, where she participated in the rescue and rehabilitation of manatees, sea turtles, pelicans, seabirds, and birds of prey. In addition to hands-on animal care, she was involved in public education and outreach, and contributed to developing strategies for the conservation of marine habitats and wildlife. She also gained practical experience in aquaculture during her time there.

She served as an active-duty member and now continues as a reservist Marine Science Technician in the United States Coast Guard, where she earned several certifications, including Pollution Responder and Port State Control Examiner. She is also a certified PADI Open Water Diver, which enhances her ability to work directly in marine habitats.

Alexandra’s life goal is to devote herself fully to conservation efforts, educate and to be a voice for the ocean protecting its beauty, biodiversity, and future for generations to come.
